“Cómo estás, cómo estás”

THIS WEEK WAS AMAZING!!

Seriously, this week has been so so great!! So many miracles have happened and it just makes me so excited to see more miracles the longer I am out here!

I had my first exchange this week which is when another companionship of sisters switch with us. So I got a new companion for the day and I went to her area which is an English area. It was so fun to just learn stuff from her and see what her and her companion usually do. I learned so so much from her. She was so so sweet. Her name is Sister Quist and she is also our STL (sister training leader). Near the end of the day we were doing cold calls which is just calling people that are active on Facebook and asking if they would like to hear a message of Jesus Christ. I was nervous because I would be calling people who only spoke spanish and since the sister I was with didn’t speak spanish, I just felt like I wasn’t ready to speak it and try and understand all by myself!!! SCARY! I got past that and found someone who was active and called them. I didn’t think they would pick up but they did! I introduced myself and told him I was a missionary and he said he knew who missionaries were, so I asked him if he wanted to hear a message. He said he did! And he said he wanted to hear it right then! I was freaking out a little bit but I started teaching him the Restoration, the first lesson talking about how our church got restored back on the Earth. It was the craziest experience because I just knew what to say. I understood everything he was saying and I just was able to talk all on my own! I talked to him for like 30 minutes and I couldn’t even believe it. Sister Quist was just sitting there so excited for me haha. He told me he wanted to meet again so I set up another time to talk! It was such a miracle! I know that God blessed me with the gift of tongues! I just love God so much and the small miracles he puts in our lives. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn spanish and to be able to teach people in their own language!

ANOTHER MIRACLE!! We got a referral from one of the Elders in our district, so we got in contact with him. We set up a time to go to his house and teach him and when we got there his whole family was there! They have 12 people in their family and we got to teach almost all of them!!! 3 of them weren’t there but we got to teach the rest and they were so fun! Their family is so cute and I just loved being around them!! They asked if we could meet three times this week and we were like yes of course!!

I had my first zone conference this weekend! Zone conference is when all the districts in one zone get together and our Mission president and his wife talk to us and teach us and we do activities and just get to know everyone in our zone. It was fun and we learned so many amazing things!! It was fun to just be all together and be learning how we can become better missionaries.

We have made it a goal to try and get more members to help us in our lessons and this week we have gotten so many and they have been absolutely amazing! Oh my goodness we have learned so much from them but also they have been so good for the friends we are teaching. All of them are recent converts to the church and they just shared the most amazing experiences and their strong testimonies!! I am just so grateful for them and their willingness to help these people who were in their same spot!!

This Easter was amazing!! I loved this week because we got to share the true meaning of Easter in our lessons!! That Jesus Christ lives and was resurrected! I love the Easter season and the focus on Jesus Christ. He loves each and every one of us and I love Him so much!! Some of our friends came to church this Sunday too and it was amazing!! We went over to a members house for a little brunch on Easter and she had a feast. She served us this platter full of like chips and gummy worms and peanuts haha, before our actual meal and it was pretty good haha.

Also it’s been sooo warm here. Like I don’t even know how. This week it’s been 75-85 degrees and we have been taking every chance we can to be outside! We went to the park today and played frisbee and pickleball and spikeball with our district and it was so fun. It was nice to finally be outside without a coat on! Another miracle.

I love you guys so so much!! Have the best week!!

Oh yeah the como estas, como estas. This guy sent Hermana Erickson a voice memo saying that and he said it in literally the craziest way haha and so we say it all the time to each other the way he said it.

Favorite scripture this week!

Moroni 7:13

13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.
